The transformed and expanded home of the UNSW Medicine program, the Wallace Wurth building, was officially opened by the Federal Minister for Health, Peter Dutton on 13 November 2014. Along with showcasing the new teaching, learning and research spaces, Professor Nicholas Hawkins, Head, School of Medical Sciences, had the opportunity to demonstrate how the UNSW Medicine program is taking advantage of these new teaching spaces to run interactive classes using the BEST Network Image Bank, Slice.

As well as showing the Federal Minister for Health how Slice is used, the audience for the demonstration included both current and past staff from the Faculty of Medicine, the latter being particularly interested in seeing how the Medicine program is utilising new technology.
